- Aqa 'Ali Mudarris al-Tihrani (d. 1307/1889), philosopher in seminary school of Tehran.
- Abu l-Hasan Sha'rani (b. 1320/1902, d. 1393/1973), known as 'Allama Sha'rani, was a Shi'a scholar and philosopher in the 14th/20th century.
- Abu l-Fadl al-Tihrani (d. 1316/1898), Shiite scholar and author of the 14th/20th century.
- Abu l-Qasim Gurji (d. 2011), author and master of jurisprudence and law at Tehran University.
- Abu Turab Imami Kashani (d. 1984), One of the Shia scholars and the father of Muhammad Imami Kashani.
- Jawad Fumani Ha'iri (d. 1284/1868), One of the Shia scholars and clerics of Tehran.
- Jawad Kani (d. 1355/1936 or 1358/1939), one of the scholars of Rey and the grandson of Mulla 'Ali Kani.
- Habib Allah Khoei (d. 1324/1906), One of the Shia jurists and commentators of Nahj al-balagha in the 13th/10th and 14th/20th centuries.
- Mirza Hasan Ashtiyani (d. 1319/1901), One of the Shiite scholars in the Qajar period and active in the tobacco movement.

- Muhammad Baqir Kamara'i (d. 19950), a Shia scholar, author and translator.
- Muhammad Taqi Falsafi (d. 1998), a religious orator.
- Muhammad Rida Mahdawi Kani (d. 2014), Secretary-General of the Jami'a-yi Ruhaniyyat-i Mubariz (Combatant Clergy Association) and custodian of Marawi School.

- Muhammad 'Ali Shah Abadi (d. 1949), Shia mystic and jurist and one of the teachers of ethics.
- Mulla Ali Kani (d. 1888-9), Shi'a scholar and jurist.
- Mirza Abu l-Qasim Tihrani (d. 1292/1875), known as Kalantar, a shi'a jurist and usuli.
- Mirza Ahmad Ashtiyani (d. 1395/1975), a Shi'a jurist and philosopher.
- Mirza Mustafa Ashtiyani (d. 1948-9), known as Iftikhar al-'Ulama', One of the active scholars in the constitutional movement.
- Nasir al-Din Shah Qajar (d. 1313/1896), The fourth king of the Qajar dynasty.[1]
- Sayyid Ibrahim Khusru Shahi (d. 2017), one of the Shia scholars and students of Imam Khomeini and 'Allama Tabataba'i.

- Sayyid Muhammad Diya' Abadi (d. 2021), a Shi'a religious orator, mujtahids and teacher of ethic in Tehran.
- Sayyid 'Ali Akbar Muhtashamipur (d. 2021), one of the companions of Imam Khomeini, the former minister of interior and the former ambassador of Iran in Syria.[4]
- Muhammad Mahdi Reyshahri (d. 2022), Researcher of hadith and custodianship of the Holy Shrine of 'Abd al-'Azim al-Hasani.[5]
- 'Abbas 'Ali Akhtary (d. 2021), representative of Tehran in the Assembly of Leadership Experts, and the former Imam of Friday prayer of Semnan and Rey.[6]
